Obama Cookies

On President Obama’s first visit to Canada’s capitol city Ottawa, he stopped his motorcade at the Biward Market to get some cookies from a bakery. They are maple leaf shaped shortbread cookies with red icing and say Canada on them in white. Within hours they became a best seller for the shop and and still are to this day. Tulip Festival Art at Biward Market

After WW2 the Dutch Royals sent 100,000 tulips to Ottawa in gatitude for Canada’s help freeing Holland at the end of the war. Since then Canada has recieved a gift of 20,000 tulips every year.
